Is diagnostic assessment and treatment included in the same cost?

No. Not all patients receiving a diagnosis of ADHD wish to commence with mediation (in favour of seeking behavioural or other non-medical support interventions); medication may also not be suitable or clinically appropriate for some patients in view of concurrent health conditions or other reasons. Medication is not first line treatment for Children and Young People diagnosed with ADHD. For these reasons, The ADHD Diagnostic Assessment and ADHD Treatment (Initiation and titration of ADHD Medication) are provided as two separately defined services, each with separately defined clinical pathways and associated costs.
